Being of service for others, lowers depression

Hi Everybody

Did you know that volunteers tend to be the happiest people on the planet? That’s because they focus on how they can be of service to others. Did you know that one of the most selfish things you can do is be of service to others? That’s because as soon as we step outside of ourselves and help others, we automatically feel good! There’s a neurological explanation for why we feel good when we give our time and energy to others.

You see, every time we’re kind towards others or we’re of service to others, we get a hit of oxytocin. Which is a growth love hormone that makes us feel good. The more we’re of service for others, the more growth hormone we produce. Allowing us to be in this state of love and stepping away from living in a state of fear and depression.

Another important factor to consider when it comes to being of service is that happy people live longer. That’s because the growth hormone allows our cells to grow healthy.

You see, you can eat all the kale and broccoli you want in the world, but if you tend to stay in your head and less in your heart, you’ll find yourself struggling with your own demons.

Because love cannot co-exist with fear, just like fear cannot co-exist with love. Therefore, acts of kindness and being of service for others goes a long way with it comes to your journey towards health and wellness!
