I hope you enjoyed your weekend despite the cold, rainy weather.
It was one of those cozy rainy weekends that allowed us to just take it easy!
Having that downtime felt so great and so necessary to recharge since our weeks can get super busy.
That’s why I’ve gotten into the habit of batch cooking so I can have healthy delicious meals throughout the week. Honestly, having healthy, ready-to-go meals has truly sustained my energy as I navigate the busyness of life. That’s why I want to share with you 3 batch cooking tips so you can have healthy meals without having to spend so much time in the kitchen
#1 Choose 2 days of the week for batch cooking. I typically pick Sundays and Wednesdays. During that time. I make a big batch of soup, I marinate some meats, I cook a whole chicken, I pre-cut certain veggies that have a longer shelf-life (carrots, celery, kale, broccoli). I make a batch of salad dressing, I steam some veggies and I make a batch of banana muffins and/or banana pancakes and I cook a pound of turkey bacon to cover breakfast and lunch. That way I have 10-minute meals for the next couple of days.
#2 Plan your batch cooking. Meaning write down what you want to prepare. Make a shopping list of the things you need. That way it flows better when you prepare your meals.
#3 And last but not least, have fun while batch cooking. Make it a joyful experience! Play your favourite playlist, have a fun drink! Because when you pour your fun, loving energy into your food, everyone will be able to taste it!
Batch cooking is one of the best strategies to create a healthy sustainable lifestyle. Especially as I take my clients through the 12-week gut healthy training program.
