Hi there
How are you? No really, how are you? Let’s talk it out!
If you’re feeling irritable, angry, anxious, sad or lonely but you don’t know why
then it’s time to look into that! Let’s do a check-up from the neck up, sorta speak.
Chances are; you’ve got a high pain body! Meaning stored energy from early childhood.
A few years ago, I had asked my social worker if I can have my file from when I was in the children aid’s society. As she handed over my file, she cautioned me not to read it all at once because it can get pretty heavy. To which I replied, you mean physically or metaphorically. I mean, you should see this thing! It’s literally a brick! All joking aside, she was right, every time I’d read a small portion of it, I felt the same emotions as I felt when I was a little kid. I couldn’t help but feel sad for that little girl.
You see, growing up, I was bounced around from foster homes to relief homes, mixed with toxic visits with my birth parents. Which I remember feeling very sad and lonely and oftentimes, scared and worried! The same emotions tend to rise up occasionally!
It wouldn’t take long for those emotions to take over if I hadn’t done the work on managing my emotions. In the last 10 years of doing the work on my personal growth and self-development, I’ve learned the concept of the Pain Body. Which is the pain we stored inside from our past and usually manifests in many different ways. It could manifest in addiction, Anxiety, Anger, Depression, etc… Once we learn how to heal the root cause, it will continue to manifest itself. There’s no denying it, it must be faced dead on!
This made me realize if I want to fully heal my pain body, I’ll need extra support. A therapist who can teach me how to bring to the forefront what I’d initially blocked as a child.
I understand the importance of feeling these emotions, in order to heal and I’m confident that working with a therapist will get me to the next level of my healing journey!
Honestly, I feel everyone could benefit from seeing a therapist. We need to remove the stigma around therapy! Therapy is not for the weak. In fact, therapy is for the courageous ones who are willing to face their struggles so they can be free of their pain body.
Everyone has a story and a pain body that needs healing.
Perhaps help you shift your perception, or find closer, or heal that inner child.
Whatever it is for you, I highly encourage you to take responsibility for your life, and sometimes that’s getting professional help!
