Celebrate the wins to keep the momentum going!

Hi Everybody,

My name is Nancy Pitre and I am a Certified Holistic Health Coach.  This week I want to talk to you about momentum.  It’s much easier to stay motivated when you’ve got momentum.  It’s like that old saying “ it’s much easier to keep a heart pumping than to try and resuscitate it”.  But how do you keep the momentum going?  How do you stay motivated?  Especially when times get tough.  It’s much easier to stay motivated when everything goes your way.  The real question you want to ask is how do you stay motivated even when times get tough, even when things don’t go your way?

In this blog post, I’m going to share with you 3 things that will help you stay motivated, even when times get tough, so you can reach the results you’ve been looking for.

1) Find your why?  Why is this important to you?  What are the consequences if you don’t do this?  What can you gain by doing this?  What kind of person do you want to become out of this?

For example:

I needed to take care of myself physically and mentally because I wanted to put an end to my ongoing anxiety. This was extremely important to me because I had no quality of life.  I might have turned out exactly like my birth mother who’s an alcoholic and suffers from Bi-Polar Disorder.  What I’ve got to gain by doing the work on my health and wellbeing is becoming healthier and happier.  The type of person I wanted to become was a loving and caring human being who wanted to experience the world and not stay stuck in my mental prison.

2) Find a strong support system!  It could be your spouse, your family, your friends, a mentor, a coach, an audiobook, a youtube video, a podcast.  Whatever you’re into, the important thing to consider is, accessing something or someone that will keep you motivated.  We often do more for others and less for ourselves because we don’t want to disappoint them or we worry about what they’ll think. Whatever the case may be, the important thing is, find yourself a source that keeps you motivated!

What helped me stay motivated was working with a coach/mentor. I also attended seminars/workshops and listened to a hundreds + hours of content on personal growth and self development.  Just seeing the beautiful shifts in my own health and wellness was enough to keep me motivated.

3) Celebrate the small wins! When you’re taking on any new endeavours or pursuing a journey towards health and wellness, it’s important to celebrate the small victories to keep the momentum going.  The reason why we give in to temptation is because we get immediate results. It excites the pleasure centre of the brain so the brain wants more. Which is why when you have a couple glasses of wine or eat a piece of cake, it gives you that instant pleasure!  It makes you feel good. It makes you relax. Heck, it even puts you in an altered state of mind!! That’s why you must reward yourself every time you achieve something or push through any obstacles that come your way!

I like to celebrate the small wins by doing what I love. A long distance bike ride, a nature walk, a piece of dark chocolate, even an Epsom Salt bath while listening to Celine Dion…LOL

Here’s the thing, motivation is a moment in time where you seek an opportunity and will yourself to commit to your intentions.  The key is to keep that motivation alive by doing these 3 things!

I hope this serves you!

If you feel like anyone would benefit from this message, please feel free to spread the love and share it!!

Until next time my friends, remember, keep progressing on your own journey towards health and wellness!!

Cheers!!!
